In praise of Facebook

It's trendy to knock it - but Facebook has recently brought a fair few old friends out of the woodwork. - people who I have kept letters (yes - that quaint and historic means of communication) from but since lost touch with. The next thing is to actually find time to meet up in the real world and see if we have more in common than biting chumps and posing/answering ridiculous questions...

TV on your phone. What's the fuss?

So last week Virgin pulled it's TV on your phone service (coincidentally just as Virgin is being lined up to be auctioned off - so I'd assume that it wasn't making money).
But also last week arch-rival Sky announced it was screening some Premiership football live to mobiles.
The doomsayers who reckon that TV on your mobile phone will never take off have spoken too soon. Like a lot of techy stuff - what it needs is a killer app or killer content. And as the TV market has shown recently (take 3's video highlights package as an obvious example) - that killer app is often football. But just wait until Joost starts bidding for sports rights...
