A couple of handy Twitter (and other) tools

Twitscoop displays in tag form "what's hot on Twitter right now". It's a bit of fun, but also could be useful for work. Given Twitter's 1.2 million users, the majority of whom are based in the US, I was pretty surprised to quite so many references to the Euro's tonight.

And then this...

is a handy how to guide to how to set up a twitter feed for a group of people

I also recently came across

Which presents images of the person who's name you put in the itunes album-cover view format. But not mine. Yet. Also worth a play with.

Three - You're fired

Are all mobile networks this evasive when you want to leave, or is it just Three?

After waiting ages to actually speak to someone, I was told I have to call back exactly 30 days before my contract is up. No more, no less. Otherwise I could pay a £50 'disconnection fee' now or, if I forget to call them, then I will automatically start a new contract.

Surely in this day and age someone can take a note now that I want to leave then. It's not hard. Instead, their business model seems to be that they want to fleece me, rather than help me. FAIL.

The poor call centre guy admitted it was a ridiculous situation. But said that all the mobile companies were the same. Really? I hope not. O2 - I sincerely hope you and your fancy new iPhone are better than Three. Mind you, I don't think you can be much worse...
