I meant to blog about today's Measurement camp, last month's holiday, and all sorts of other fine stuff, but instead got totally waylaid in musical tomfoolery.
Firstly, the Becks live studio. They emailed me. I was interested. I clicked. And I spent a good hour just mucking around on various tracks until I did this pared-back Roisin Murphy mix. I defy anyone who likes music not to spend some time on it too.
And I would encourage more brands to put these sorts of easy-mash-up-games online. (My previous favourite was a DJing beatboxing dog. Sad but true - but worth a play)
As a brand, Becks seem to have got their music sponsorship and online stuff (through Dare?) pretty sorted.
Thanks to Becks Fusions I won tickets to see Massive Attack, Santogold and United Visual Artists (who I think are amazing - totally loved their recent exhibition outside the South Bank) and various others in Manchester this weekend. Exciting stuff. I suppose that entering that comp is how I got on their email list. But to be honest I don't care.
Does the music and online stuff make me feel better about Becks as a brand? Yes, indeed. Especially when coupled with their art sponsorship too. Will it make me drink more of the stuff? Maybe.
Will it make me do their water, barley, hops, yeast dance like these fine people? No.
